The International Journal of Intangible Heritage is an academic journal dedicated to the promotion of understanding of all aspects of the intangible heritage in the world. Since intangible heritage is being considered as culture we should preserve and transmit for the future generations, as the publisher of the International Journal of Intangible Heritage, National Folk Museum of Korea shoulders great responsibilities for carrying out the important missions of preservation and transmission.
I believe there must be a medium for carrying out the two roles successfully and it is the International Journal of Intangible Heritage fitting in preserving and transmitting intangible heritage not only for the contemporary generations but also for the future generations.
By having the academic research papers as a form of record on intangible heritage, it serves the role of preservation and by publishing the Journal, it serves the role of transmitting. I look forward to having this year as a momentum for making the International Journal of Intangible Heritage more recognized and supported worldwide.
